Welcome 2012

A whole month has past since my last post and what a wonderful month it has been. School ended for both of us and we have been able to be together since then. My birthday was wonderful! I still insist age is simply a number, I am not sure I will ever feel my age.
We managed to get most of my stuff packed up to send to Medicine Hat with only one accident and then we headed down to Whitefish for our 2 weeks of Christmas break. It was the most amazing break, we both slept a ton and for anyone who knows me, hearing that I slept 10 hours a night will seem unreal. Blackout curtains are amazing! The first week there was very little snow so we spent a lot of time shopping. We had a dinner and theatre date with Lyle's parents the first week and it was a great time. I tried escargot for the second time in my life and actually enjoyed them this time.
We skied 4 times I think while we were down there, some days were better than others, only 1 was a complete disaster. My final day of skiing was my favourite! Chair 9 opened up and so far it's my favourite place to ski, I spent about half the time out with just Shirley (Lyle's mom) and I working on the run and practising my technique and came out of the day wanting to ski again. I am excited that we get to go back down for reading week in February.
Christmas was great, Lyle bought me the hammock I have been wanting since the summer and a bunch of other things and I got him a set of golf clubs. The time with his family was wonderful and we were able to skype with most of my family including my darling brand new nephew!
New Years eve was our last day of skiing and by that time the whole family was there so we did some skating that evening which was a lot of fun, the rest of the night was pretty low key but that is fine with me as long as I was with Lyle.
We are excited for 2012 and all it has in store for us. Only 4 months left until the wedding and our grand adventure to Europe!
The move to Edmonton was special to say the least, a 2 door sunfire was not really equipped for what we needed to fit into it, soon I will post photos of what we looked like. We came through it unscathed minus the door to the glove box which I busted the handle with my knee....long story.
So far my week in Edmonton has been quiet, I am still not into my apartment yet but hopefully soon. This week we also started our biggest loser challenge: wedding edition. We both have some weight we want to lose before the wedding and since we are competitive we decided a challenge would help. Lyle's goal is to lose 37lbs and mine is to lose a minimum of 21 though 31 would be awesome. We will see how it goes, I have taken over trying to provide healthy meals and Lyle is in charge of workouts. I will keep you all posted on how this goes, maybe this will be my motivation to post weekly!
